Tools

Mp3tag allows the configuration of external applications as tools that can be accessed from the context menu of the File List. You can create up to 99 tools here.

The first ten tools can also be started by the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+0.

You can add and remove tools via the New and Remove buttons next the tools list. Editing user-defined tools is possible via the Edit button.

Name

The name is used for the menu item in the context menu of the File List.

Path

Full file path to the external application.

Parameter

Optional command line parameters. You can use the following placeholders:

%_path% Full file path
%_filename_ext% File name
%_filename% File name without extension
%_filename_rel% Relative file path
%_directory% Directory
%_folderpath% Folder path
%_folderpath_rel% Relative folder path

for all selected files

If enabled, Mp3tag executes the tool for every selected file.

Default tool

If you want Mp3tag to launch a special program when you double-click files in the File List, you can select one of the tools from the drop-down list.

If you select No action, no actions will be performed on double-clicks in the File List.
